What is a Genie Boom Lift?

A Genie boom lift is an aerial platform made by the Genie manufacturing company of Redmond, Washington. Boom lifts are either articulated or telescoping. An articulated lift has a jointed boom that allows the operator to position the load more precisely. A telescoping boom lift lacks the flexibility of an articulated lift, and cannot be maneuvered as precisely, but is able to reach greater heights and carry heavier loads.

Either type of lift is able to reach heights in excess of 100 feet. A scissors lift, in contrast, can only reach heights of about 50 feet, although within that height range it can carry more weight, and give a larger work platform for workers.

What Boom Lifts Does Genie Make?

Genie makes a wide variety of articulated and telescoping boom lifts, with a variety of power options. Articulated booms come in both battery powered and diesel models. Telescoping booms are powered by diesel, but a variety of engines and horsepower choices are usually available for any given model.
