LAS VEGAS – John Deere’s future-generation excavators have been unveiled on the first day of ConExpo.

Also being unveiled are John Deere’s updated excavator models and the new 85 P-Tier and 510 P-Tier.

“We are beyond excited about the future of our excavator line-up, including the new models available to our customers today and the machines being strategically designed and built for tomorrow,” said global product manager, Aaron Klauer.

In August of 2021, John Deere and Hitachi Construction Machinery ended their joint marketing and manufacturing because both companies began marketing and developing excavators on their own.

On display at ConExpo this year is the 145 P-Tier, 210 P-Tier and 360 P-Tier models. Offering durability, leading performance and reliability showing their advanced technology and guaranteeing connectivity enhancements and safety management going forward.

“We understand the importance of attracting and retaining talented operators. That’s why we are prioritizing an elevated operator experience through a new cab, controls, displays and technology,” Klaurer closes.

LAS VEGAS – Wacker Neuson unveils two new models in the company’s loader lineup. The SM60 and the SM120 will join the SM100, the first of Wacker Neuson’s utility track loaders.

Designed for light site work, auguring, material handling or landscaping these step-up and go concept machines makes this series some of the easiest mini skid steers to operate on the market today.

“We’ve added to our range of stand-up skid steers, which was one of our most exciting launches, Gert Reichetseder, president and CEO of Wacker Neuson America Corporation, says referring to the release of the first model, the SM100 over a year ago. “We have built to date more than 1,000 [SM100] units in not even one year, and we are ramping up because the demand has been very positive.”

The SM100 has a 1,000 pound rated operating capacity at 35% and has standard 9 inch wide tracks with an overall machine width of 35.5 in. The SM60 has a 600 pound rated operating capacity at 35% with a machine width of 35.5 inches. The biggest of the series is the SM120 with an operating capacity of 1,226 pounds at 35% with wide, 11 inch tracks.

Along with the unveiling of the two new utility track loaders, Wacker Neuson is featuring its new EZ17e, a 1.7 ton battery powered excavator.

LAS VEGAS – Yanmar enters the compact track loader market with its very first compact track loader, the TL100VS. The TL100VS is NOT a rebranded loader from Yanmar subsidiary ASV.

With an expected four model line up, the TL100VS has a 10,286 tipping load. Similar to ASV designs, the new model has a clear-sided cab with complete visibility. The difference between ASV loaders and Yanmar loaders is a steel-embedded rubber track and steel sprockets. Steel cannot be found in any of ASV’s tracks.

The TL100VS can be equipped with optional efficiency-enhancing features like the self-leveling loader linkage, a load-sensing hydraulic pump, auto 2-speed drives and ride control. SmartAssist telematics are also an optional addition to TL100VS from Yanmar’s mini excavator line.

Finally, the Yanmar compact track loader has a new remote control option that lets the loaders be operated from a distance ensuring safety with a harness-mounted control box. This remote control option is able to be installed in the factory or in the field. The other new Yanmar  compact track loader models are expected to be released later this year.

LAS VEGAS – Magni introduces Fixed Boom Telehandler at ConExpo. The new 10K/12K TH models were introduced yesterday.

Winning best-in-class performance, the six models in the TH series range in heights from 25 feet to 75 feet and lift capabilities of 11,000 pounds to 13,200 pounds.

Currently in the United States, Magni’s fixed boom telehandler TH models/10K/12K guarantee the safest operation possible with the Load Moment Indicator and Load-Limiting Technology. The new fixed boom telehandler is essentially three machines in one because of its multiple attachments including work platforms, winches, jibs, and forks.

The HTH 16.10 is currently on display at ConExpo with a maximum lift capacity of 35,200 pounds and over 31 feet of lift height. Powered by a Volvo Penta Tier 5 engine, this fixed boom telehandler provides the power needed for almost any industry.

Magni is rotating three other telehandler models at the show including the RTH 5.25, the 6.30 and the 6.46. Compatible with more than 100 attachments and 360-degree rotations, the Magni fixed boom telehandlers are groundbreaking.

LAS VEGAS – Case has unveiled new electric innovations and new machine categories. Vice President, Terry Dolas says, “We’re innovating with new product launches… We’re investing even more into the Case dealer network and giving them the tools they need to succeed… We’re investing in strengthening our ability to produce and diversify both in existing plant expansion and through M&A.”

Case’s electric innovations include the battery-electric machines, the CX15EV and the CX25EV. “This will be a dynamic addition to the Case product portfolio for landscapers, utilities, rental houses and more,” says Brad Stemper, the Director of Product Management for Case. “And we’re coming to market with premium features such as pilot controls and 14-pin electrical to give operators that enhanced experience and function.”

New machine categories include the Case 695SV Construction King backhoe-loader with side shift and the Case 580SV Construction King center pivot models. Both are rated 74 hp with maintenance-free missions that does not require diesel or diesel exhaust fluid.

Case plans to announce more electric innovations and additional wheeled excavator models later on in 2023.

LAS VEGAS – Hitachi has unveiled a new mid-size excavator for price-conscious buyers — the Hitachi ZX190LC-7 S7x.

The new Hitachi ZX190LC-7 is mid-sized and weighs in at 43,652 pounds. The excavator closes the gap between Hitachi’s mini and large excavators and with its higher performance measures at lower price point.

The new Hitachi ZX190LC-7 fills in line between the pre-existing ZX160LC-7 and ZX210LC-7 models. The Hitachi ZX190LC-7 is capable of over a 23 foot digging depth and an over 28,000 pounds bucket breakout force.

Patrick Baker, the product manager of medium and large excavators for Hitachi says, “Hitachi Construction Machinery Americas Inc. (HCMA) recognizes the need to add the ZX190LC-7 to its line of full-sized excavators to meet customer demand,” aiming the new mid-size excavator at price-conscious buyers.

“Because of the way the industry is evolving, you either have an owner-operator that’s really focused on price or you’re buying fleets of equipment where it’s all about performance and efficiency. We’ve tried to combine those things. We’re looking to be very aggressive with the price tag.”

Some notable features of the Hitachi ZX190Lc-7 is the enhanced undercarriage, a strong boom design, a spin-on type fuel filter to prevent dust from entering the fuel circuit and the tracking maintenance. Lastly, the Hitachi ZX190LC-7 is equipped with the HIOS IV hydraulic system. Baker says, “You can now set and tune the speed of your arm, your bucket and your swing,” he explained. “It’s very customized and very operator friendly.”

LAS VEGAS – Bobcat has unveiled the first ever all-electric skid steer loader — the Bobcat S7x at CONEXPO.

Similar to the T7X, released last year, the S7X is powered by a 60.5-kWh, lithium-ion battery which uses electric drive motors and screw actuators for tilt and lift it’s capabilities. The S7X is able to operate on a single charge for 8 hours. The total charge time is only 10 hours.

“As the inventor of the original skid-steer loader, we are excited to take the machine that created the industry and reinvent it all over again,” said Joel Honeyman, Doosan Bobcat Vice President of Global Innovation. “The S7X is an incredible product with real-world application that can support operators on environmentally sensitive sites, in noise-restricted areas and for indoor operation.”

In order to bring the S7x to life, Bobcat partnered with Moog Inc, an international developer of motion control components in defense, aerospace, construction and more. Along with Moog Inc, Bobcat will continue partnering with Viridi for their fail-safe, lithium-ion battery systems. Both Moog Inc and Viridi helped Bobcat create the T7X as well.

Along with the release of the S7X, Bobcat has also introduced the RogueX Autonomous Concept. The new RogueX machine analyzes autonomous operation, dual lift-arm geometry and electric power.
