What is the difference between a reach truck and a forklift?

There are several differences between a reach truck and a forklift. A forklift usually does not extend its forks. Only its mast goes up and down to elevate the load. A reach truck can both raise and lower its mast, and extend and retract its forks. Forklifts use a counterweight to balance the load as it is raised or lowered. A reach truck uses a pair of legs to stabilize the load as it raises or lowers its mast. Counter balance forklifts have four wheels, or occasionally tracks, which can be used indoors or outdoors, depending on the model selected. Reach trucks have only two wheels, plus their balancing legs. They are poorly designed for outdoor use, and are best used in warehouse operations. A few specialized models of reach truck, designed for outdoor use, are available. Because of the design, a reach truck has a much smaller turning radius than a forklift, and so can operate more efficiently in the confined space of a warehouse.

How much does it cost to ship a Reach Trucks?

Shipping a Reach Truck, like the 3,000 pound Raymond 540-OPC30TT, would cost you about $1.85 per mile using a step deck trailer.

How many hours does a Reach Trucks Last?

The life expectancy of any kind of forklift depends upon its operating environment as well as its maintenance. A machine operated in a cold environment like a food warehouse can have a reduced life expectancy. Also, machines operating in seafood brine or chicken warehouses can expect a reduced life expectancy. On balance though, a well-maintained machine in an ordinary environment can reasonably be expected to last for at least 10,000 hours.
