The MEC 4046SE is a 47 in wide electric slab scissor lift with a 38 ft 8 in platform height (about 45 ft working height) and a 750 lb capacity on current models. Its large deck and 35 in roll-out extension make it a common choice for ceiling, lighting, sprinkler and HVAC work in warehouses, big-box stores and other tall buildings with smooth floors.

Specs are from MEC’s current 4046SEac spec sheet and SE-series operator’s manual (ANSI A92.20). MEC’s product page lists a 30 ft outdoor platform height, but the spec sheet and manual say 28 ft. Early units differ (see below), so check the serial plate and decals on the lift you’re buying.

• Early DC 4046SE (about 2017 to 2019): part of MEC’s DC slab line launched in 2017, with direct electric drive and a 550 lb capacity. It weighs about 6,770 lb.
• 4046SEac (current): AC electric drive, 750 lb capacity and 7,140 lb weight. Listings don’t always say which version a unit is.
• 4046+ (2026): MEC’s new PLUS version with AC motors that recapture energy, 900 lb capacity, a 36 in extension rated for 300 lb, 3.2 mph drive speed and 30% gradeability. It is about 46 in wide and weighs about 7,450 lb. Few have reached the used market yet.

Because capacity changed from 550 to 750 lb, always confirm the rating on the serial plate rather than relying on a listing or brochure.

• Large work platform: an 89.5 x 44 in deck that grows to 124.5 in long with the 35 in roll-out extension, which has several locking positions.
• AC electric drive: current models use AC drive motors with fully proportional drive and lift controls for smooth positioning near ceilings.
• Fold-down guardrails: folding the rails drops the stowed height from 102 in to 79 in, so the lift fits through lower doorways.
• Maintenance-free AGM batteries: sealed batteries need no watering, and the automatic charger works on 110 to 230V power.
• Easy service: a slide-out tray for electrical and hydraulic components, numbered wiring, lube-free scissor bearings and onboard diagnostics.
• Safety systems: active pothole protection, a multi-axis tilt sensor, descent and all-motion alarms, a drive speed interlock, emergency stops at both control stations, multiple disc brakes and a scissor maintenance lock.
• Leak Containment System: MEC’s patented system helps keep hydraulic fluid off finished floors.

Options include an inverter for power tools, a tool tray, a pipe rack, a sheet material tray, a cold-weather package and MEC’s Proactive Platform Safety System.

The 4046SE competes with other 40 ft, 47 in wide slab scissor lifts. MEC’s current model carries more weight than the Genie GS-4047 and uses AC electric drive instead of hydraulic drive.

The JLG 4045R, now replaced by JLG’s ES4046, is another common used option in this class. If you need more height, MEC’s 4555SE reaches a 45 ft platform height at 55 in wide. • Early DC units carry only 550 lb
• Slow lift time (about 84 seconds to full height)
• Fewer used units for sale than the Genie GS-4047 or Skyjack SJ4740

The 4046SE is built for indoor work on smooth, level floors at heights a 26 or 32 ft lift can’t reach, including:

• Lighting, electrical and low-voltage cabling in warehouses and distribution centers
• HVAC, sprinkler and plumbing installation and repair
• Ceiling, insulation and painting work in tall buildings
• Racking, signage and fixture installs in big-box stores
• Stage, lighting and event setup in arenas and convention centers

Outdoors, it can work on firm, level pavement within its 28 ft outdoor limit and 28 mph wind rating. For rough ground, use a rough terrain scissor lift instead.

In October 2026, FleetNow had 8 used MEC 4046SE listings, all 2020 to 2023 models with about 150 to 330 hours, asking $17,400 to $22,900. Newer 2024 units listed elsewhere at about $32,000.

Low-hour, late-model 4046SE lifts cost more than older Genie and Skyjack units, but they carry more weight. Prices change daily, so see current listings for the MEC 4046SE.

• Serial plate and decals: confirm the year, whether it is a DC or AC model, and the capacity (550 or 750 lb) and outdoor ratings.
• Inspection records: ask for the last annual inspection and any repair history.
• Batteries and charger: check the age of all four batteries and the charger, and run the lift through a full charge cycle. Replacing the battery set can cost $1,000 or more.
• Fault codes: check the controller display for stored codes. LL means the lift is out of level, and code 18 means a pothole guard did not deploy.
• Pothole guards: raise the platform and make sure both guards deploy fully.
• Safety systems: test the tilt alarm, emergency stops, emergency lowering knob, descent alarm and brakes.
• Scissor stack: look for bent arms, cracked welds and worn pins, and watch for sway at full height.
• Hydraulics: check the lift cylinder and hoses for leaks, and make sure the platform holds height without drifting down.
• Deck, rails and gate: the extension should slide and lock, the guardrails should fold and pin securely, and the gate should close on its own.
• Tires: look for chunked or flat-spotted non-marking tires.

The JCB 507-42 is a mid-size telehandler that lifts 7,000 lb to a height of 42 ft. A 74 hp JCB diesel, a 4-speed powershift transmission, four-wheel drive and three steering modes make it a common pick for residential and light commercial framing, masonry and material handling, and used units are among the lowest-priced JCB telehandlers on FleetNow.

JCB lists the 7,000 lb capacity, 42 ft height and Tier 4 Final engine on its 507-42 page but does not publish the full spec sheet online, so the other figures come from dealer spec listings for 2013 to 2025 units. Values such as weight, fuel tank size and tires vary by year and build, and one rental spec lists a synchromesh transmission. Always check the load chart in the cab and the serial plate on the machine you are buying.

• 7,000 lb to 42 ft: enough for pallets of block, shingles, lumber and trusses on residential and light commercial jobs.
• Three steering modes: two-wheel steer for travel, four-wheel steer for tight turns, and crab steer for moving sideways along a wall.
• Frame leveling: up to 10 degrees each way to level the machine on uneven ground before lifting.
• Simple drivetrain: a 74 hp JCB diesel with a 4-speed powershift and four-wheel drive. Current Tier 4 Final engines need no DEF and no diesel particulate filter.
• Easy controls: a fully proportional single-lever joystick with low-effort servo controls and, on newer units, a color display.
• Service access: side-mounted engine with a gas-assisted hood and 500-hour wear pad service intervals.
• Cab choice: open canopy or fully glazed cab, both ROPS and FOPS certified.

Prices are from the JCB telehandler guide (FleetNow listings, November 2026, units 2023 and older). The 507-42 is usually the lowest-cost way into a 42 ft telehandler. JCB does not publish list prices. One dealer listed a new 2025 507-42 at $140,000 in 2026, and a new 2026 unit on FleetNow is listed at $137,850. Used prices below come from the 34 priced JCB 507-42 listings on FleetNow in November 2026 (112 to 4,718 hours).

• Safety: confirm the load chart is in the cab, the load moment indicator and backup alarm work, and the ROPS/FOPS is undamaged.
• Inspection records: ask for the most recent annual inspection.

The JLG 3246ES is a 32 ft electric slab scissor lift with a 37 ft 9 in working height, a 46 in wide chassis and a 1,000 lb indoor capacity. Like other JLG ES models, it uses electric drive with only two hydraulic hoses. FleetNow had about 92 listed in November 2026. JLG now sells this size as the ES3246.

Ratings, occupancy and weight can change by model year and market, especially on units built after the ANSI A92.20 standard took effect. Check the serial plate and decals on the machine you are buying.

• 1,000 lb indoor capacity: room for a crew plus heavy materials, well above the 700 lb of most 32 ft rivals.
• Electric drive with minimal hydraulics: only two hydraulic hoses and four fittings on the whole machine, which means fewer leaks and service calls.
• Drive at full height: reposition at up to 0.5 mph with the platform raised.
• Zero inside turning radius: tight maneuvering in aisles and rooms.
• 4 ft 2 in roll-out deck: holds up to 250 lb.
• Long battery life: JLG advertised up to 200% more battery life than a competitive model in its own testing.

The Genie GS-3246 and Skyjack SJ4632 are the 3246ES’s main competitors, and the JLG ES3246 is its replacement. All are 46 in wide, 32 ft electric slab scissors. The 3246ES stands out for its 1,000 lb indoor capacity and lighter weight.

Competitor specs are from manufacturer spec sheets. Prices are the middle half of FleetNow asking prices in October and November 2026.

In November 2026, 92 JLG 3246ES listings on FleetNow ranged from $5,400 to $24,900. The middle half were listed between $7,300 and $10,200, and the median was about $9,300. The median listing showed about 390 hours.

The few very high asking prices are outliers, so compare hours, battery condition and service history. For comparison, dealers advertised new Genie GS-3246 units for about $26,900 to $28,900 in October 2026.

JLG later sold it as the R1932 and has since replaced it with the ES1932.

The Genie GS-1932 and Skyjack SJ3219 are the 1932R’s main competitors, and the JLG ES1932 is its replacement. All are 32 in wide, 19 ft electric slab scissors.

Competitor specs are from manufacturer spec sheets. Prices are the middle half of FleetNow asking prices in October and November 2026. The 1932R is one of the least expensive 19 ft scissors on FleetNow because rental fleets sold so many 2018 units at once.

In November 2026, 98 JLG 1932R listings on FleetNow ranged from $3,700 to $8,950. The middle half were listed between $4,500 and $4,900, and the median was about $4,500. Hours were low, with a median of about 280.

For comparison, dealers advertised new Genie GS-1932 units for about $15,000 to $16,300 in October 2026, so a low-hour 2018 or 2019 1932R is one of the cheapest ways to get a 19 ft, 32 in scissor.
